“Is the small town a place, truly, of the world, or is it no more than something out of a boy's dreaming? Out of his love of all things not of death made? All things somewhere beyond the dust, rust, and decay, beyond the top, beyond all sides, beyond bottom: outside, around, over, under, within?”
In story books, small town America is romanticized as a place of terrific wonder, of simple pleasures, safely removed from the hostility of the world outside. It is the land in which a neighbor in need is a brother, and ID’s are unnecessary formalities. Few stop to wonder, however, of the frequently less than desirable circumstances of such a close-knit world in which nothing remains a secret for long.
Littlemont, Illinois is, for all intents and purposes, a typical small town, running the gamut in social classes, and known for only two things: its utter unremarkability, and a stunningly talented performing arts program at the local high school. The creaky old theater is a site of great glory for the otherwise ordinary small town, and to snag the leading role is to step into the spotlight of the entire place.
What happens when the glitz and glamour of Glee meets the drama and teenage shenanigans of Dawson’s Creek?
